This weekend marks the end of the earthly life of “Ariel”, my children’s 9 year old dog.  Although I only got to walk her a few times, I got to know her well, through the pictures and stories related to me by Christopher and Karen. They always spoke of her loyalty, of her loving to go to the grandparents where she received ‘buttered bread’ and many other snacks on a regular basis, of her enjoying walks and her antics with their cat Ginger. While some may say, she is just a pet… Ariel was more than that. She was a member of their family, a good listener and faithful. She has been battling cancer valiantly for the last year, and through all the test and medicines she never complained. A real testimony to the animal spirit. I want to thank the Vet who has not only been providing Ariel exceptional care, but who came to the house for that final visit, instead of having them come to you!  Ariel you will be missed, but I thank you for the love, the licks and the fun you shared with my children as they say their goodbye.
